First Baptist Church of Young America is hosting a soup supper from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 17 at the Lion’s Den in Young America. Soups include chili, taco vegetable, potato and lasagna. Spanish or plain hot dog with all the trimmings will be offered. Desserts and drinks also served. Freewill donations will be accepted.
Harrison Township Volunteer Firemen will host a breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m. Saturday, March 18 at the Lucerne Fire Station on State Road 16. The firemen will be serving pancakes, sausage, orange juice, milk and coffee. The firemen will use all donations to purchase or repair equipment used by the fire department and the first responders. Dine in or carry out.
Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with a baked potato bar from 4 to 6:30 p.m., Friday, March 17 at the Deer Creek Community Center. Freewill donations for ongoing expenses and the new electronic sign project.
Anoka United Methodist Church will hold its monthly community breakfast from 7:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday, March 18. The church will be serving homemade sausage gravy, homemade biscuits, scrambled eggs, sausage, French toast and pancakes. Coffee, juice and milk will be available. Freewill offering with proceeds going to medical expenses for Susie Holverson.
The Monticello-Union Township Public Library is recognizing Women’s History Month with a Women’s Expo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 18. The expo will highlight those in leadership roles, provide health screenings, education, and beauty tips. The library will feature entertainment from harpists Sara Walthery from 10 a.m. to noon and Lauren Grace from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. There is no cost to attend the expo. VFW Post #3790 and Auxiliary will attend the District No. 2 meeting at VFW Post #2511 in Porter on Sunday, March 19. The Miami County Extension Homemakers will be hosting an Indoor Community Rummage & Vendor Sale at the Miami County Fairgrounds from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 25. Booth spaces are still available but are quickly being snatched up. The cost of a 10 foot by 10 foot booth space is $25. In addition to the booths, the Miami County Extension Homemakers will be hosting a Food Stand offering many breakfast, snack, lunch and beverage items on site.
League of Women Voters invites you to attend a Town Hall Meeting with the Cass County Council and County Commissioners at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 29 at the Logansport-Cass County Library. The Cass County Council is the fiscal arm and the Commissioner’s Office is the executive branch of county government.

The Indiana Archaeological Society will sponsor the 22nd annual exhibition of prehistoric to historic artifacts from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. on April 1 at the Miami County Fairgrounds, 1079 W. 200 N., Peru. There will be over 100 tables on display featuring some the finest relics in the Midwest. The event is free to the public. Free artifact identification and appraisal will be available.

First Church of the Nazarene, 109 W. Clinton St., will host a Palm Sunday Concert with musical gust Adam’s Voice at 10:30 a.m., Sunday, April 2. The church is also hosting an Easter egg hunt with 6,000 eggs filled with candy and prizes at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 8. The egg hunt is rain or shine and for children ages 12 and younger. The public is invited to attend both events.
Logan’s Landing will host their annual Downtown Green and Clean from 9 a.m. until noon on Saturday, April 18. Volunteers are being sought to help weed and trim, pick up litter, sweep and spruce up the downtown district. Those interested in participating can call 574-722-9345 to sign up. Participants will meet at the Depot, 421 4th St., at 9 a.m. on April 18 and should bring their own yard tools and gloves.
The Logansport Parks and Recreation Department and Cass County Soil and Water Conservation District will host an Earth Day celebration from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday April 22 at Spencer Park. Free activities include a scavenger hunt, gardening demo, games, facepainting, music, pictures with Mother Earth and crafts. A special animal presentation will be at 11:00 a.m. The event is free, and the first 200 participants will receive a free white pine seedling.
